FAQ

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Where will we meet?
All meetings will be via video (ZOOM) or phone; your choice.
How long is a typical session?
A typical session is 50 minutes long.
What do I do to get started?

Just call me at (512) 761-8712 or email me at lara@laralatimer.com. We will set up a time to have a quick, free initial phone consultation.

How do I pay?

You can pay with a credit card. I keep your credit card on file (we will discuss the specific card information at our first full session).

After each session, I will charge your credit card. Your credit card information will be kept confidential, and I will only charge for our sessions.

Do you accept insurance?
I do not. However, some of my clients have insurance plans that allow them to use the health savings accounts to pay for coaching. I recommend that you look at your specific insurance information and discuss this with a benefits specialist at your place of employment or insurance company.
How do I make an appointment?
To schedule your free, initial phone consultation, call or email me today. At the end of that call, we will schedule your first full session if we are a good fit. From there, at the end of each full session, we will schedule your next appointment.
What is a free initial phone consultation?
This consultation is a time for us to get acquainted and make sure we are a good fit. If we are a good fit and want to move forward, we will schedule your first full session.
What is your cancellation policy?
My cancellation policy is that any appointment that has not been canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance will be subject to charge. Acceptable modes of cancellation include email, phone call, voicemail message, or text message.
How often will we meet?
The frequency of our meetings varies between clients. Typically, I see each client about once a week; however, some prefer twice a week, every other week, or once a month.

COACHING QUESTIONS

Who is your perfect client?
My perfect client is motivated, ready to challenge old habits and beliefs, willing to try new things, and able to keep an open mind.
With what age range do you work?
I typically work with women ages 25-45.
What can I expect in the first session?
In our first session, I will ask you some general questions about what you are struggling with and your goals. These questions will help me get to know you better. We will then discuss whatever is on your mind that day and determine a practical step you can take before we meet again.
How long will I work with you?

We will work together as long as we need to for you to feel better. And for as long as I feel like I can help you. The length of time that we meet is something that we will discuss together, as it varies between clients.

Our work’s duration varies depending on the client’s personality, willingness to engage in the process, and tackling the specific issues. There is no prescription for how long it takes for any one person to feel better.

Does anyone cry in front of you?
Yes! And I hope they will! Sometimes I cry, too. Crying is cathartic and helps people get unstuck.
Do I have to tell you everything?
You can tell me as much or as little as you want and on your timeline. I welcome it all – with our relationship, there is no such thing as TMI. My most successful clients are the ones who are willing to share with me. Our relationship will ideally serve as a model of how it feels to be vulnerable and feel supported – we all deserve this!
Who benefits from coaching?
Everyone. At different points in our lives, all of us can greatly benefit from coaching with an effective coach.
What else can I do to try to help me help myself?
Feel your feelings, especially the ones that seem most icky or overwhelming. Also, you can Journal. Meditate, and Connect with others who are doing these things, too. We can discuss all of these things in our work together!
How do I know if you are the right coach for me?
You will get an idea about our compatibility when we have our initial consultation. Also, I recommend that clients give it about 4-6 sessions to get a good feel for me, how I work, and how we work together. Ultimately, it will take a little time to know if I’m the right coach for you. The primary way you can know is when you consistently implement the behaviors. Then, I will ask, “Do you feel better?” If the answer is yes, then I am probably the right coach for you.
What is coaching?
Coaching involves acknowledging where the client is, where they want to be currently, and how to bridge the gap. Coaching does not treat mental illness, addiction, or a crisis. Coaching is strength-based and helps clients develop new perspectives and skills to feel happier and more fulfilled.
Is our work confidential?
Absolutely! I do not divulge any identifying information about you and your struggles unless you indicate that you may physically harm yourself or others.
